Nautilus Book Awards Announces 2010 Winners

TUESDAY, 27 JULY 2010

Marilyn McGuire, Founder of the Nautilus Book Awards, announced the 2010 winners at the Book Expo America in New York City, the largest bookselling show in America.

The Nautilus Awards recognizes books and audio books that promote conscious living and positive social change as they shift the imagination and offer the reader new possibilities for a better life and a better world.

Books and audio books that receive Nautilus Awards demonstrate distinguished literary and heartfelt contributions to spiritual growth, conscious living, high-level wellness, green values, responsible leadership and positive social change, as well as to the worlds of art, creativity and inspirational reading for children, teens and young adults.

Gold and Silver Nautilus Book Awards Winners are carefully selected in a unique three-tier judging process by experienced teams of book reviewers, librarians, authors, editors, book store owners, and leaders in the publishing industry.

McGuire noted, "We are proud of our winning titles and authors and are pleased that our judges found such a variety of subjects worthy of the Nautilus Award from both seasoned and new authors." 2010 Nautilus Gold Award winners include New York Times best-selling author Gregg Braden and previous Nautilus award winner won a 2010 Gold Award in “Cosmology & New Science” category for his book Fractal Time: The Secret of 2012 and a New World Age. This Hay House publication merges the modern discoveries of nature’s patterns (fractals) with the ancient view of a cyclic universe to create a powerful model of time – fractal time.

Another highlight from the 2010 Nautilus Gold winners – a rare double-Gold winner -- is from first-time author Iris Granville. His amazing book Hands At Work: Portraits and Profiles of People Who Work with Their Hands by author Iris Graville, with photography by Summer Moon Shriver, won their cherished, honorary “Best in Small Press” award as well as a Gold award in the “Art/Specialty/Gift” category. This carefully crafted book presents a rich tapestry of people who are passionate about laboring with their hands. Graville’s vivid narrative, combined with Scriver's striking black-and-white photographs of hands, tools, and materials, provide a meditation on work that kindles readers' inspiration and insights.
