The 2008 Summer Festival will be held from July 25 to August 9 as part of the 2008 New Kadampa Tradition (NKT) International Festival. The spiritual affair will take place at the Manjushri Kadampa Meditation Centre's Kadampa Buddhist Temple in England. Teachings, prayers, and retreats will be held to deepen one's spiritual existence.
The annual NKT International Festival is a meditation gathering by Buddhists from all over the world to receive spiritual teachings and advice from Buddhist Teacher Geshe Kelsang Gyatso. This is also an event aimed to provide influential spiritual support and inspiration to fellow attendees.
The festival starts off on the 26th of July with the Avalokiteshvara empowerment, to be followed by a three-day teaching on Universal Compassion. This will be followed by a three-day meditation retreat. Teachings on Universal Compassion will be continued from the 3rd to the 6th of August, which will again be followed by a two-day meditation retreat. A festival play will end the festival, featuring the life of Buddha Shakyamuni.
Post-festival retreats will be available to those who are interested to have a deeper understanding of the teachings of Buddha.
