Hallori Jungle, Bara District, Nepal - Ram Bomjon, the 18-year old from Ratanapuri village, Bara District, Nepal passed the halfway point last Friday May 16th in his mission to meditate for six years. News has been sparse since his short emergence in October of 2007 to speak to a large crowd. However, there are groups forming across the globe which are following his progress.
One popular group of followers is known as the "Ram Bomjon - Palden Dorje Google Group" and has been growing quickly despite the lack of news from the area. "Our group is growing because of the lack of news, not in spite of it," said the Google Group owner whose nickname is Mu. "Our group, along with the Official Ram Bomjon site and the Myspace page, are the best sources of information these days."
Ram Bomjon, who drew thousands of visitors and media attention for spending months in meditation, began his meditation on May 16, 2005. On March 26, 2007, inspectors from the Area Police Post Nijgadh in Ratanpuri found Bomjon meditating inside a bunker-like square ditch of seven feet. He is still there today.
