Meditation at Work Boosts Employee's Performance
FRIDAY, 26 OCTOBER 2007
Many US companies are now integrating meditation in their offices. Jonathan Foust teaches meditation in World Bank and other companies in Washington D.C. He encourages office workers to pause, even for a few seconds, during their busy schedule. Answering a phone located at a far side of the office lets the person clear his mind. Foust said, “When you slow down, what is most important will come to the surface.”
Law offices, insurance companies and other workplaces now have meditation groups to seek calmness and serenity. Employers discovered that meditation classes boost employees’ performances and reduce stress levels. Studies have shown that meditation reduces blood pressure, boosts the immune system and helps people manage pain. Through regular meditation, people working in an office develop flexibility and strength to handle everyday stresses at work.
