Meditation Tool Showcased at NAACP Image Awards

Celebrities attending the 38th Annual, NAACP Image Awards learned new meditation techniques and the successful rescue of tigers from Laurie Desjardins, the creator of Zen Sticks.
The NAACP Image awards are held annually to celebrate the outstanding achievements of people of color in the arts and entertainment industry. This year's event was held on March 2, 2007 and aired during prime time on the Fox network. The event drew celebrities and political players from all over the world.
Guests at the event had an opportunity to meet Laurie and try out her new meditation tool, the Zen Stick™. India Arie, Raven Simone and Louis Gossett Jr. were among the stars who were interested in the unique relaxation technique, which consists of tossing and catching, or simply holding the smooth, perfectly weighted stick to help quickly focus the mind.

Guests were particularly moved by the story of My Brothers' Keeper Animal Sanctuary, Laurie's safe haven for big cats. During the event, Laurie explained to visitors how she fell in love with the majestic tigers, and created an animal refuge to give these creatures the care and protection they deserved. A portion of the sales from each meditation tool go to support the animals at My Brothers' Keeper.
