WEDNESDAY, 28 MARCH 2007
New York designer J. Callender proudly announces the grand opening of Mandinez.com. Mandinez online shop features unique Mandala-inspired artwork, apparel, home accessories and office accessories, including wonderfully soft organic t-shirts and stylish fitness wear. As an artist and designer in New York, J. Callender sought to expand her creative horizons by seeking alternative forms of meditation, such as Mandala meditation. Inspired, she created numerous attractive, colorful designs based on her personal favorite Mandalas.
"Meditation is a vital avenue through which I can center and discover the new perspectives I need to fuel inspiration," J. Callender said. "I hope to communicate both the strength and beauty of that vision through Mandinez.com."
Mandinez.com currently features five designs, with more set to follow. Peace Mandala Organic t-shirts and totes are the most popular at this time and the tank tops are a big hit as yoga wear. The site also features mugs, clocks, magnets, mouse pads, journals and decorative pillows, all with a variety of Mandala-inspired designs.
The name Mandinez is a tribute to the very sources of J. Callender's inspiration. It's derived from Mandala Meditation and Callender's middle name Ines, which she shares with her mother and grandmother. Both women continuously spark her artistic and spiritual side.
Mandalas are primarily Buddhist or Hindu graphic symbols of the universe used as an aid to meditation, but these symbolic patterns exist by different names in many cultures.
