Namaste!

What meditation techniques best for me?? It always arises. It is answerable by you. It's an individualistic experience.
What works for you will not work for another. The best that you'll do is try a several types of methods to see which one suits you the best.

I always advice that you practice the best for you and the one you hate most because it's one you hate will help you most. It's helping which is why you don't like it. Meditate twice a day the one you like and hate most try to do it for 45 minutes and probably you'll feel the result.

The meditation any meditation truely and with a clear heart and you will get effects. The importat thing is to do it, "talk don't cook rise" :)

I get a lot of motivation from listening to others. And to teachers and audiobooks. My main source right now is the meditacticsDVD from www.meditactics.com. Check out the youtubetrailer too! This DVD is a vast library where a lot of traditions and teachers show different aspects of meditation. So download, listen and evaluate and then you can decide which one is "the best" for you :)

It is the same problem with a large number of us:we get involve in debates,in different opinions,in evaluations. These are all tricks of mind(as we understand it) to keep us busy in debates and evaluations of different techniques, and thus ensure that we are away from meditation. If you start trying different techniques, try to scan all literature on the subject, try all institutions who claim to impart so called training about it,you may spend many life times before you start meditation,if at all you are able to do.
This logical mind of your have to be kept aside,if  want to go on the path of meditation. If you ask for its help, you will never succeed in meditation(I mean reaching the ultimate). Please note that meditation is death of logical mind.It will therefore never allow you on this path.It therefore will  keep causing doubts in your mind about different techniques, different postures, different institutions and so on.
Therefore if you want to meditate,do not try anything.Just close this logical mind and be with yourself.Once you are with yourself, your inner self will immediately take charge, embrace you and put you on the right path/routine.
For more, you can write to me,and you can go through my other posts on this site, though my articles submitted have yet to be cleared.

These are all techniques of keeping the mind busy.Keep trying, keep analysing, keep understanding, and mind will be busy. That is opposite of meditation.Meditation is to make the logical mind idle, irrelevant. As long as we are busy in kinds,advanges/disadvantages,suitability/unsuitability of each kind,we may not even reach the path, leave aside walking on it and reaching the destination.
