Dear Tonmoy, I was missing you . I felt too nervous in my exam and I maked mistakes in the vinyasa,so I felt very sad. But in Yoga nidra, they told me that was very good, and also the meditation.
Anyway, my problem is my insecurity (i''''m not sure if I use the correct word) and I am working to change this.
Thank you ,

Namaste everybody,

The term Meditation is very commonly and easily using nowadays. We often use this term and attend Meditation classes. But so many things(steps) are there to follow and practice in our daily life to achieve this state (Meditation), which is in between awakening and sleeping. I just wanted to receive the ways that you people follow to practice Meditation. I’ll also share my experience and steps, which I follow for this compulsory daily practice. So we can increase our knowledge and can achieve deep state of Meditation. This is actually the way we can learn from each other.

Thanks

Looking ford to hear from you.....

Namaste,
I can not meditate properly I think. What I do, every night before going to bed I sit in a comfortable posture with back streight and eyes closed. Then...........
- follow abdomenal movements
- follow the breath inhaling & exhaling
- try to make the breath slow & deep
- follow the abdomenal wall is moving out while inhaling & moving in while ezhaling.
- keep on following this to keep away from thoughts.
- then start thinking my Lord Buddha
So this way I try, but sometimes some other thoughts destruct my mind and make me restless.
Is there any other way to concentrate? or don't know whether my steps are ok!
Thanks
Carina

Hello Carina,

So many steps or ways are there in Meditation. Your steps are also fine. It would be better if you start with Kapalabhati for a minute (according to your capacity) then observe the natural suspension of breath. in fact there will be urge of inhalation & exhalation, which is known as "Kavali Kumbhaka". A deep state of silence can be observed during this time and enjoy this. Please wait until normal breathing comes back then start Nadi-Suddhi for few rounds. Then go through process you follow daily.

Thanks

Namaste Yogacharya Tonmoy,
- I prefer either in the morning at 5am or at night after 10pm
- I have my bath before I sit for......
- I have separate mat that I use only for meditation
- I have separate cleaned cloth for meditation
- I have a separate room for this...........
- I put the photo of my lord Buddha on a table parallel to my head where I sit
- I sit in a comfortable posture keeping back & head straight, eyes closed
- follow abdominal movements
- follow abdominal movements with breath
- maintain slow & deep breathing
- after few minutes when mind becomes calm ....
- I open my eyes slowly & watch my Lord Buddha..
- I start thinking about him,...about his life, about his sacrifice etc..
- try to keep my eyes open as long as I can then.
- close my eyes and start thinking about him
- & totally immerge myself.........in him..
These are the steps Yogacharya but I can not hold this state for more then 30 minute, as my legs start paining and come back to body consciousness. haha
Is there anything to add.........
Thanks for the nice topic
Namaste
