Meditation is a term used differently by different people. Therefore let us not talk of jargons.Tell me exactly what do you do.It appears that you try to be with yourself, and,in the process, have slightly come to your feeling center, from the usual thinking center(where most of us materialist/mindful people are). You seem to be on the right path. What is your problem?

Hi
Thanks for your reply ,i dont seem to have a problem but was wondering how i would know that im progressing? , also i meditate by being by myself with no music and i then sit with my legs crossed and relax when i close my eyes i concentrate on nothing but the centre of my eyes and begin to see colours and each breath i take in the more of the tingly feeling i feel just of centre of my forehead. Has anyone also got methods of meeting your sprit guide a proper way.
Thanks guys

i also get very similar questions from my students who have just started
beginning meditating. My standard reply to them is the day they start
enjoying the meditation, they are progressing. The colors etc. are just
projections of the mind which always like to have a sense of
achievement. All these things like how you sit, the techniques are not
that important unless you are comfortable. My suggestion is go to a
park, enjoy the nature, the existence and relax, no judgments. You can
also have a look at my website, at my classes and have a brief idea and
contact me in case you have any troubles/pain. When you force yourself
there is pain , in relaxation there is no pain.
AND in my experience and an advice, stay away from spirit guides etc.
