Hi everyone I am new to meditation, have been practising for about 3 months everyday and just found out about Binaural sounds. My question is, listening to the CD´s produced by the different companies e.g; Brainsync are they really effective? and do they act like a shortcut into gettign results faster.. or is it better to carry on meditating without any sounds, just counting my breaths ( I know this is one of the many techniques of meditation) I am also reading lawrence LeShan´s book - How to meditate. Can you please advise, thanks in advance.

Thank you for the tip of advise but it does not make any reference to my question about Binaural beats - Has anyone tried Binaural beats(sounds) have you found them effective and if so how? Please can you tell me your experience in this, as I would like to compare to traditional meditation, thank you...

I have done beat, tone, and even musical meditation and found it to be
very effective. I meditated for 10 years using silent / trans
meditation before I tried anything else.
I'm not sure I could've started out as a beginner using one of
these "sound" methods. The first time i tried it I found that the
repetitive rhythm helped strenghten my focus and energy. So I actually
used it consistently for about 2 years before switching back to
silence.
Both have worked equally well and provided great benefits for me.

Shocking to know that you tried meditation on your own for ten years, and then moved to the aids and found them better. There seems to be something wrong somewhere. What exactly have been doing for a decade?
