Meditation Teacher Training Course
Would you like to become an instrument in enriching the lives of others by teaching meditation? Are you perhaps a yoga teacher wishing to give more of the practical benefits of India's rich spiritual heritage to your students? Then consider this 3-week intensive meditation teacher training course. These three weeks will offer the opportunity of a lifetime, to not only receive training to teach highly effective meditation practices, but to prepare your own consciousness for teaching by deepening your inner experience and knowledge of the Self. The course is open to anyone. Previous meditation and yoga experience is not required.
For the past 35 years, Ajayan has with single-minded passion explored India's most effective forms of meditation, developing and offering classes to make these subtle practices accessible to students worldwide. In this course he will personally train participants in all aspects of teaching meditation. By the point of graduation you will be thoroughly grounded, not only in an understanding of the principles and mechanics of meditation, but in your own personal experience of profound meditation. Most importantly you will feel in your own life the inestimable value of a truly effective program of meditation.
You will learn: **To teach several highly effective forms of meditation accessible to almost any student (you will also learn these practices yourself). **A context for understanding meditation that dissolves effort and frustration and reliably bring students an effortless, profound, and self-validating inner experience. **How to convey the essential principles of correct meditation, so that virtually anyone, even children, can meditate. **A variety of auxiliary practices from the Raja, Kundalini, and Jnana Yoga traditions to further deepen a student's experience of meditation. **A context for understanding the principles and mechanics of meditation that will allow you to insightfully answer most questions regarding meditation. **Philosophical and practical background on meditation and its purpose. **An effective course structure to give students the support they need to meditation regularly. **How to inspire students and prospective students with a vision of the benefits of meditation. **How to handle special needs, for instance people with emotional or psychological problems. **How to recognize the signs of evolving consciousness on the path to enlightenment. This will give you a basis for guiding students as they begin to personally experience growth through meditation, and eventually higher states of consciousness.
A graduation certificate will be awarded to those successfully completing the course.

Ajayan Borys has been exploring and teaching a variety of meditation practices since 1970. In the early 70's, he spent several years studying in residence under Maharishi Mahesh Yogi, founder of the Transcendental Meditation ProgramŽ. For the next ten years, Ajayan taught the TM ProgramŽ. Since then he has traveled the globe continuing an impassioned exploration of consciousness and developing human potential through a number of forms of meditation. From 1994 to 1998 Ajayan studied with India's most widely revered living woman saint, Mata Amritanandamayi ("Ammachi"), living at her main ashram in Kerala, India. Amma selected Ajayan to be the meditation teacher at her main ashram, and during those four years he taught daily meditation classes to many thousands of visitors. |

Saturday Schedule We'll spend the three Saturdays in the course in silence, fasting, and solitary meditation until an early dinner (5 PM), with a midday break for a walk and meditative group reading of scriptures. In the evenings we'll either attend the Ganga puja, do some other special activity, or meet for a satsang/instruction. Though a day of meditation in silence may sound austere to some, you will find that these particular meditation practices can make this day a feast of blissful Being, the beneficial effects of which may be felt for months afterwards.
Sunday Schedule Sunday will be a relaxing recreational or free day. Instead of morning and afternoon satsang, we'll have an earlier meal and then do a special (optional) activity, like rafting on the Ganga, or taking a trip to Vashishta Guha (the cave of the famous rishi by that name), or just a long walk along the Ganga. We'll have dinner together, but you'll also have the evening free. However, it's important to continue with the daily routine of meditation/yoga, even on Sunday.
